design: Fuel Cells

  • Fuel Cells
A 96-page book designed to explain and promote the idea of biofuels as a renewable and viable energy source. The design used an engineering/scientific theme to present the content information.
All infographics are organized on a grid reminescent of the standard engineer's pad.
All text is presented in hung (clotheslined) columns representing test tubes. All breaks in paragraphs and major ideas are separated by light green colons (::::::) which represent algae cells. A dot-matrix display typeface provides a bridge between the scientific content and the idea of algae growth on the page.
Blurred imagery provides a sense of opening one's eyes while under water. Line-work detailing mimics the idea of ripples on a pond.
