In a disposable world saturated with connections made through technology and fleeting communication, the written word and meaningful connections made through tangible objects can still live on.
This project was inspired by a woman named Martha Helmick. She was Sunny's grandmother. Not in blood but in bond. When she was 8, her family moved away and she didn’t get to see Martha too often. Devistated, they keep in touch with frequent cards and letters. Martha also sent postcards to Sunny from her past travels, which date back to the 1930’s. For each one Sunny received, she put them in a shoebox and hid them away. This handwritten dialogue and postcard exchange went on for almost 20 years, until she started going blind and could no longer write.
Martha was a grand storyteller and had powerful axioms for every life situation. Inspired by her principals and postcards, From Me, To You is designed to pay it forward and spark something meaningful. Postcards are sent anonymously to random people with messages of love, hope, encouragement and wisdom.
