We were to take found elements, ie images or objects not originally intended for artistic purposes. I found a 1903 edition of a cookbook, passed down to me from my grandmother. The front of the cookbook is filled with advertisements from the turn of the century! About 15 pages targeting women, homemakers. The artwork and type was crude and hard to manipulate, at best, but I was able to create a narrative and a tone to the accordion book I made with these elements.
