Float Blocks was conceived and installed in a open outdoor area close to student studios at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. Inspired by many earlier works in the environmental art movement, I wanted the viewer to reflect on the mystery of a seemingly unexplained event, such as a heavy object floating in space, eliciting wonder and thought.
