I was in inspired to work on this stool due to the lack of well crafted, compact stools that could be used in an office or school setting. The majority of the solutions are too expensive and take up too much space.
At the beginning of my design process, I decided that I wanted to make something that could be flat packed and required no hardware. With that in mind, I began to explore wood joinery solutions, and realized a dovetail joint would be a perfect solution.
This stool embraces the simplicity and beauty of a dovetail joint by using its architecture to inspire all aspects of the design. To even further this, I took a modern approach on the joint design, and used the actual tail of a dove to help push the overall form.
