Dada Book Design
For the project, I have redesigned the book Dada: Zurich, Berlin, Hannover, Cologne, New York, Paris by Leah Dickerman. We were asked to redesign the cover, title page, acknowledgements, table of contents, chapter divider, and spreads.
After studying Dada, I realized the largest defining features of the participants wasn't the art they created but the connections they had with one another. So I used that theme of connectivity in my books, by using a common line that runs throughout the book whether implied or literal. Layers and collage also went with this idea of everything overlapping and connecting. Of course there are some surprising elements thrown in since it is Dada.
