Alternate ad concepts for The American Museum of Natural History's Creatures of Light Exhibition which took place between March 2012 and January 2013.
The concept for the mark highlights the exhibition's main attraction; the elegant beauty and grace of the bioluminescent creatures on display. I imagined a group of these creatures in a space together, the pattern of movement, and the hypnotizing trail of light that would be left in their wake. The arches lead the eye throughout the piece and back to the exhibition title, while the exhibition information is anchored below.
*This project was a personal exploration and is in no way affiliated with The American Museum of Natural History.
Pamphlet concept. Colors denote the separate sections of the exhibition, which showcase various categories of bioluminescent creatures (meant as an optional cover variation).
Alternate pamphlet concept, die-cuts of various creatures representing the separate sections of the exhibition. These icons are also meant as wayfinding tools that would appear as the viewer navigates through the space.
