Description
Collaborative project to design a sub brand of Celestial Seasonings tea that was more sustainable.
  • Cozy Cup Tea
A more sustainable version of Celestial Seasonings' tea.
  • For this project my group chose a product and company, we then designed a sub brand version of their product that was more sustainable. We chose Celestial Seasonings Tea and created, Cozy Cup.

How is Cozy Cup more sustainable than the parent brand Celestial Seasonings? Cozy Cup uses 100% recycled and 100% post-consumer waste for the packaging paperboard. We got rid of tea bags….so you can pull out that old strainer and help us save the planet! On top of that we limit our packaging printing to one color, non-toxic, soy ink.

    Design for Good

This is for a hypothetical product, not one that was actually produced.
  • Cozy Cup in the home environment
  • Mock-up of our packaging design. More sustainable because we used paperboard box that is 100% recycled and 100% post-consumer waste. we limited the package print to one color, non-toxic, soy ink. We eliminated tea bags, so you can pull out the strainer and help us save the planet!

  • My group’s presentation of Cozy Cup.

On the board: packaging laid out flat, pictures of the 3D model of our preliminary packaging we worked with theEngineers to produce (actual mock-up of this rendition is on the table) made ofcanola plastic, photos of the digital 3D mock-up of the canola plastic box, photos of Cozy Cup in the consumers home environment, and photos of Cozy Cup inthe retail environment.

On the table: Celestial Seasoning's teabox, the Cozy Cup tea box filled with loose leaf tea, and the preliminarycanola plastic box mock-up (part of our process work), and two books.

The first book is an animated book thatleads you through the life cycle of Cozy Cup and explains the process off itsproduction from tea seeds to in the consumer’s cup in simple terms. The secondbook explains the process and all the work and research my group did to deriveCozy Cup.
