Clothesline Poem

  • Clothesline Poem
This piece is a visual concrete poem, in which the meaning of a poem is reinforced through the typographic arrangement of words and letterforms. The poem conveys a very profound message about private thoughts, and how one would feel if their most inner thoughts were aired on a clothesline, open for the entire world to see.
The piece whimsically reinforces the meaning and tone of the author’s poem exclusively with type. I used a handmade Nepalese paper with whimsical visible fibers to print the piece on, speaking to the fabric of clothes moving in the breeze; the metaphor for ones private thoughts.
