Cannery Row

Group project: Each student was given a John Steinbeck novel to design a book jacket for, centered around a typographic solution. I settled on illustrating the opening line of the text, the first two words of which—serendipitously—are, “Cannery Row.” Like an early 20th century fishing town, my book jacket began with modest ambitions, but eventually got so out of hand that I felt compelled to have it letterpressed.
