This collage was done when I was frustrated with the progress of a group of my students, I grabbed everything I could find in the recycle bin, and built a quick collage. The leg image added a "seedy" element, so I made use of a poem I wrote years ago during a period of depression and failed relationships. I hand wrote the text, scanned it, and made it yellow to stand out.
I decided to make this a large format poster, 70 inches wide. It later became a back drop for a performance art. I read poetry in a formal suit, to the two female performs, was whipped, had valentine hearts tossed at the audience, and the performs applied stickers with romantic and sexual words to audience members.
I received a lot of compliments on the experimental nature of the piece...and one lodged complaint to attempt to remove/ censor the art!
