Description
Final "Make What You Want" Project for Editorial Design 3 Class
  • Breaking It Down: The Basics of Teaching
    Teacher Guidebook Editorial Design
  • This book was written by Breakthrough Collaborative, a national teaching internship I  spent two summers with. It is released as a .pdf file, which teachers can download, formatted in a Microsoft word document.

My goal in redesigning the book was to take the useful content and making it more accessible and exciting. It needed to be more legible and visually friendly, and less intimidating. It also needed to express a level of professionalism while not losing the interest of the high school and university age readers.
  • Cover Layout
  • While the overall layout, paper stock and black and white photography speak to the professionalism of teaching, the navigation system’s energetic colors (primarily focused around the semicircle on the right hand pages to allow for fast fanning,) and the entertaining images keep the book age and mood appropriate for the program.
