The goal of this project was to develop three different-looking bookjackets for a fiction book of our choice. After research of themes and exploration of visuals, the task was to design the three bookjackets with different dominant focuses: image based, type based, and a designer’s choice. The use of writing exercises to develop compound words as concepts was a major part of developing the correct look and feel of the book chosen. My choice, Ender’s Game, is a novel of the science fiction genre. For me the goal was to not only to create well rounded bookjacket designs, but to also design with a very particular audience in mind.
