Design for “Bestiarium Munustolidu” book, otherwise known as “Dull Workplace Creatures.”
To harmonize the Victorian concept of a Bestiary with the modern concept of office culture, with a distinct tongue-in-cheek tone.
Inspiration came from noting the returning trend of photography grafting animal heads onto human forms, from the Victorian era to current pop culture.
The final book utilizes black and white photography of a stereotypical cubical dweller in urban scenes. Exaggerated poses and merged animal heads are used to exemplify the traits outlined in the supporting copy. Clean and sparse layout keep the pages modern, while decorative calligraphic typography in debossed silver foil pays tribute to the extravagant oranmentation of Victorian prints.
