Art & Agitation: "Pray the Gay Away"

For my class Art & Agitation, we had one project for the whole semester. We were assigned to pick a social justice topic we feel deeply about and then create a piece of work. The topic I chose was Conversion Therapy, also known as "pray the gay away." I built a wood cross and chairs and made two dolls by hand. This piece is meant to address the issue that Conversion Therapy does not help but instead hurts people.
