- The Art of Arabic Calligraphy
Editorial Piece - Arabic is my second language, so I've always been fascinated with it's artistic culture through calligraphy. It is a beautiful language and has such beautiful, fluid letters that it is understandable why so many are inspired by its calligraphic style.
I wanted to create dynamic flow and hierarchy and incorporate more than one use of Arabic style Calligraphy. The large background image is Kufic style, while the left and right smaller images are traditional arabic calligraphy. I separated both the paragraphs about the ancients vs. the modern styles of Arabic calligraphy to even out the space and create a juxtaposition of the information.
