A large, 156-page publication with a broad target audience (researchers, breast cancer advocates, activists, the lay public), this annual report required a major overhaul in structure and "presence". The grey sea of text was relieved by generous use of white space, more imagery, a more legible typeface at an increased point size in deference to a "mature” audience, and a screened scholar’s margin to relocate the frequently lengthy pullquotes and prevent them from interrupting the main text.
Reader's comments ("Things were easier to find"; "It was better organized and much easier to follow") indicated that the intended audience both benefited from and appreciated the changes.
