Volksans by Radmir Volk
The volksans font was created by graphic designer Radmir Volk in 2020. This grotesque font exploits elementary geometric forms and has no distortions or decorations. The design of the letters follows from the functional optical forms. Volksans is created using the drawing method, meaning it can be reproduced using a compass and a ruler.
Inspired by the Dutch De Stijl movement, Russian constructivism and Bauhaus school of design in Germany with its motto "form is defined by function", European designers throughout the 1920s exploited elementary geometric forms such as square, triangle and circle. This background was the basis for creating the volksans font.
