KEEP CALM AND READ CANKAR — Book

  • KEEP CALM AND READ CANKAR —
    POCKET BOOK
  • Book design made for Slovenski Klub featuring quotes, speeches and interviews of Ivan Cankar (a Slovene writer, playwright, essayist, poet and political activist) given during his visits and during his meetings in Trieste between 1899 and 1919. The collection of short quotes come out of the desire to bring Cankar to young people / young readers and those who do not yet know Cankar and to those who (yet) do not know which work they would start reading. Therefore, it is also made in such a youthful, pocket form(at) and does not require much time to read. A playful title reflects the book's (intentional) jaunty mood. Also in the cover design: there is designed a stylized cup of coffee (a citation of one of Cankar's most popular novels, Skodelica Kave) seen from the upper point of view, reflecting the author's (contemplative) face in its dark liquid.
