- Text written by Rondi Davies (8 Bridges Hudson River Swim)The 8 Bridges Hudson River swim is an epic 7-day, 120-mile swim on the Hudson River,
New York. Ari branded the swim with the “8 Bridges” logo which unifies the
main elements of the event in classic and clean design. The elements include:
+ The prominent text “8 Bridges”, a short and catchy tag for the swim. The client
particularly wanted to emphasize the number eight because of its bold and “infinite”
+ The Hudson’s majestic bridges which mark the start and finish of each days swim. On
each consecutive day, the swim starts at the bridge that marked the finish on the previous
day. Since most of these bridges are suspension types, Ari used a single suspension
bridge to symbolize the eight bridges. In addition, since the swimmers perspective of a
bridge is from underneath it, we wanted to show the bridge in this perspective as much as
+ The waving water both represents the long meandering nature of the Hudson’s flow,
and the natural element of water and waves.
+ The blue and green represent water and nature. The hues are bold to represent the
epic nature of the swim and the Hudson’s rich natural and industrial history.
