Ears of Buddha
Ears of Buddha is a high-end fashion brand that asks you to listen for life and embrace your individuality. From the very beginning, we knew that this project needed to tell a story and truly capture the unique identity of the name and the clothing. Working closely with Franny Koelsch and her team, we were able to design a truly unique brand in all aspects. We developed the brand identity, directed photo shoots, designed all of the contributing brand assets and built out a beautiful e-commerce website that shows the unique qualities of Ears of Buddha.
A brand as unique as the product
Ears of Buddha is a favorite client project at Flywheel because there are so many visual elements and physical touch points that make up the identity. We worked closely with the designer to learn about the clothing, the back story behind the name "Ears of Buddha" and what makes these items so unique. From there, we experimented with ideas until we landed on the perfect brand identity. Blending elegance with an old-world feel allowed us to create a unique visual language that compliments the clothing line.
Package design that leaves a lasting impression
As a high-end clothing line, it was important to us that every touch point had purpose and spoke the Ears of Buddha design language. This included boxes, tissue paper, packing tape, stamps, hang tags, a wax seal, business cards, letterheads, and envelopes. Every aspect of the interaction with the brand was carefully crafted to compliment the unboxing experience. From the minute your order arrives at your door, you know you are in for something special and something hand-crafted just for you.
A beautiful website for a beautiful brand
Building out an e-commerce site that looks beautiful, is easy to use, and represents the brand well is always a challenge that we look forward to. By shooting and creative directing professional models during photo shoots, we were able to clearly present the brand and show the world what Ears of Buddha represents. Another important aspect of this website is its ability to translate to a mobile design while still keeping usability and design at the forefront. The website looks as beautiful as the brand on any device.
Stunning lifestyle and product photography
Ears of Buddha represents a lifestyle. It represents connecting with your inner self and embracing your individuality. During multiple photo shoots, we were able to bring that lifestyle and that unique individuality to life. For these photography sessions, we worked with the client to select models that embodied the brand attributes (free-spirited, confident, bohemian). We scheduled time at a photography studio as well as scouted outdoor locations. We collaborated with Franny to style each top with complimentary bottoms, custom Jewelry from Rebecca Lankford Designs, and matching footwear. In post production, we made final selects and retouched each image by hand to create a cohesive look. Using the photos from the studio and each location, we brought life to the website with stunning photography that emphasizes the brand and product.
