Museum of Contemporary Art in Lviv
Lviv has a large number of museums that are concentrated in the center of the city and most of them just focus on the history of the city and culture. Therefore, the proposed new museum was decided to move away from the center and focus on contemporary art.
After analyzing the list of potential areas for building a new cultural center on the periphery of the city, one site stood out - the abandoned wine factory in the park of Pohulyanka. In the post-soviet period, a large number of industrial buildings ceased their operations. These abandoned buildings could easily be reused for new functions. Therefore, the old wine factory would be perfect site for the new museum of contemporary art for the city of Lviv.
The new museum will consist of refurbished old soviet buildings and a modern structure that rests on top of it, symbolically showing the connection between the past and the future.
