Inspired by the art of nature, Pearlfisher crafted a design language
that reimagines the distillation of natural ingredients, informed by
herbal remedies of the 17th century.
In a drinks market saturated with sugary soft drinks and a bevy of alcoholic offerings, Seedlip is the first brand of its kind – a sophisticated and craft-driven spirit that is also non-alcoholic. Pearlfisher Design brought the revolutionary new brand to life by combining process and ingredients in an illustrative way. Utilizing an artful arrangement of Seedlip’s own botanicals, a distinct monogram, and copper detailing, Pearlfisher has infused Seedlip with layers of discovery, ensuring that the brand will become a covetable bar essential for both bartenders and adults who’d prefer a non-alcoholic option.
In the 1600’s Apothecaries were using small copper stills to make non-alcoholic herbal remedies. This alchemy was documented in The Art of Distillation published in London in the year 1651 & is now re-purposed for the modern day. Seedlip was founded by Ben in his kitchen in the woods, with copper still using a copy of The Art of Distillation to continue his family’s 300-year farming ancestry. Changing the way the world drinks, Seedlip started under the belief that Mother Earth is gracious, precious & ingenious. In honor of this wild and natural world, the finest ingredients are harvested and individually cold macerated, distilled and then blended to capture nature’s true spirit.
In order to bring this story to life, the styling of our photoshoot merged The Art of Distillation with The Art of Nature. Using vintage apothecary bottles and jars with gold spined books, the setting brings forward the mysterious distillation process with the desire for nature's secrets. Creating botanical cases and introducing beautiful plants, flowers, and spices helped bring forward lead designer and illustrator Sissy Emmons Hobizal's forest animals.
