    For the Year Review 2016 of Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin I illustrated the entire magazine with around 30 illustrations. The editors provided me with around 70 topics of the year, I choose 30 to illustrate. Initial roughs digital in Photoshop and on my phone and with pens in my sketchbook. Overall message (specially for the cover): We haven't been nice to the year 2016. We could do better.

    Many people struggeld with the consequences of a disturbing and dishonest Leave campaign.

  • 2016 Munich shooting

    On 22 July 2016, a shooting occurred in the vicinity of the Olympia shopping mall in Munich, Germany. Ten people, including the perpetrator, were killed and 36 others were injured. A highly recognized video footage shows the gunman walking alone on the roof of an empty car park before opening fire again.

  • The Hillary Clinton Email Controversy

    Illustration for the Year Review 2016 of Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin: In March 2015, it became publicly known that Hillary Clinton, during her tenure as United States Secretary of State, had used her family's private email server for official communications, rather than official State Department email accounts maintained on federal servers. Those official communications included thousands of emails that would retroactively be marked classified by the State Department. The controversy unfolded against the backdrop of Clinton's 2016 presidential election campaign. Hillary Clinton attributed her presidential election loss to the ongoing investigation, saying they stopped her momentum.
