The Minneapolis College of Art and Design MFA program's 2016 fall exhibition showcases the work of first and second year MCAD MFA students. Presenting a variety of disciplines including photography, painting, animation, printmaking, illustration, sculpture, and graphic design, the exhibition will feature work by 32 artists and designers. Titled Apoptosis, (the death of cells that occurs as a normal and controlled part of an organism's growth or development) the show embraces changes and self-examinations brought by its artists.
By re-exploring the concept of cell death and self-development, the visual identity was designed to support the idea of ever-changing and to show the diversity of the MCAD MFA program. The organic shapes were hand-drawn in a lively and whimsical style, resembling cellular tissue while symbolizing creativity.
