To gain a better understanding of 3D lighting systems, I made this small project to test the differences in behavior of light objects versus luminance channels. “On & Off” is an experimental scene that displays the different effects on transparent, glossy, matte, and textured materials. Cinema 4D’s robust lighting parameters are seemingly endless, so learning a basic understanding of how to use these systems is key. This project allowed me to experiment with a wide range of materials and see how certain techniques could be executed for future designs.
