365 Day Photo Challenge

  • Everyday there is something.  Everyday we can have the opportunity to recognize and appreciate that which we have seen on countless occasions.  Opportunities to acknowledge life in its joyous and painful beauty are often wasted in the malaise of every day life.  For a year I walked with my trusty Olympus E520 as means to capture this beauty to the best of my ability.  These are a few of my favorites and the rest you may peruse at your leisure here: http://eb-one-a-day.tumblr.com/

  • Hiking at Hoffman Hills.

  • I woke up for no reason way to early.
"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour." - William Blake

  • That church on that one corner in Menomonie, WI.

  • My nephew's baptism.
"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality."  - Albert Einstein
  • New Years Day.  Happened to be in the right place at the right time.
"Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away." - Marcus Aurelius

  • Driving home from camping I spotted an abandoned burned down house.
"You can never go home again, but the truth is you can never leave home, so it's all right." -Maya Angelou

"Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul."
    - Max Ehrmann "Desiderata"
  • A sunrise sunflower.
"We shall not cease from exploration,
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
    - T.S. Eliot
