  • A view of my Istanbul, Turkey hand-painted watercolor map. This project features a look at my process & detailed views of the result. Explore additional views and locales at: www.contour.es
  • Attributes of downtown Istanbul were identified, which determined the constraints & size of the map. The overall layout and city streets were then sketched on watercolor paper.
  • Local distinct features and landmarks were resaearched to determine a color palette representative of the locale. 
  • Galata Bridge & Atatürk Bridge, alternatively known as the Unkapanı Bridge, expanding over the Golden Horn waterway.
  • Fatih district - Sirkeci neighborhood - featuring Gülhane Park.
  • Fatih district - Laleli & Kumkapı neighborhoods - facing North.
  • View of Beyoğlu district - Karaköy & Tophane neighborhoods - toward the Golden Horn (Haliç) waterway and Fatih district.
