In 2014, I started a personal lettering project just for the fun of it. After getting a coffee from a local shop, I began to draw on the blank cup sleeves. For the sake of consistency, I always lettered the words "hot coffee", but each time it was completely different. The goal then became to explore a different style and technique each time, without being committed to the traditional rules of lettering. I found more joy in the experimental—crafting unique letterforms and playing around with different methods of creating texture. All the sleeves were lettered by hand and then redrawn in a vector format. Sometimes the vector art was a direct translation, other times it evolved from the source material quite a bit.
