In my sophomore year of college, I had a design professor who was infamous for her "200 sketches" assignment. Our final deliverables included four 8x8 compositions representing the design principles of Balance, Emphasis and Economy, Proportion, and Movement. But first we were to choose a unifying theme, a designer for inspiration, and then to make 200 sketches before we selected down to the final four.
I like dragons. A lot. Enough to make 200 of them. I also like Stefan Boucher and his Daily Monster Project, and used his inkblot technique to create my dragons.
While I did narrow down to four final compositions, I loved each of my dragons so much that I decided to make a book out of them. Stay tuned for the final edition!
