I was asked to donate a poster design to help raise money for the AIGA Nebraska Designing Opportunity Scholarship. This poster and a dozen others were exhibited at the Carnival of Souls - a B-horror movie themed kick-off party for the 2013 Omaha Literature Festival.
The brief was to create a poster featuring an (in)famous B-horror movie in the public domain. As a B-movie enthusiast I considered some of my old favorites like the Last Man on Earth (Vincent Price) or Night of the Living Dead, but it doesn't get much more 'B' than a movie titled 'Jesse James Meets Frankensteins Daughter', and the challenge was too good to pass up.
While most of the work was done in Illustrator, I always look for opportunities to use traditional media, so all of the distress texture and dry brush texture was done with ink and then scanned in.
