Vasily Kandinsky (motion graphic work)

  • Vasily Kandinsky
  • This is a personal motion graphic project. The requirement was to create a motion graphic work based on choosing one of abstract artists from exhibition Inventing Abstraction 1910-1925 held in MoMA. My choice was Vasily Kandinsky. Through observing Vasily’s works and doing some research of the artist, I found the rhythm and motion can be felt from these static masterpieces. Just like the words said by Kandinsky, “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand which plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul"

  • Composition VIII is the original shape of my motion work.
