• Messenger Brand System
  • With over 1.3 billion users, Messenger has grown to become one of the largest communication platforms in the world. As a part of their global brand relaunch, they wanted to completely overhaul their in-app illustration system. The ask? To create a sophisticated, universally understandable language whilst establishing an ownable and versatile aesthetic. No problem!

    Directing a small international team, we developed process guidelines as well as a complete suite of use-case illustrations both static and animated. Our starting point was to establish a conceptual basis for the illustrations; the integration of clear iconic imagery with the UI surface itself. From there we formulated design and animation principles which not only reinforce concepts but improve overall user comprehension. This new system of process rules ensures a cohesive brand voice whilst helping users better understand content, features and information.
