When I was a young kid I would take my dad’s Architectural Digest magazines and study the houses and the details endlessly. Instead of playing with Barbies or running around the neighborhood with the other kids, I would sometimes draw my own blueprints and design houses. I spent hours exploring computers as a little girl when the computer screens were blue and had that little flashing white cursor. In 5th grade I was given a C in penmanship because I made up my own hybrid of print and cursive. When I was in junior high and high school I would change my handwriting every other month like I was changing the font. Sometimes cursive. Sometimes big and bold. Sometimes tiny, perfect and very controlled. Sometimes tall, thin and condensed.
