I'm Derick, a highly creative graphic designer and illustrator with over seven years of agency experience.

I'm new to America having grown up in Scotland, but after marrying an amazing American I was granted Permanent Resident status and we decided to begin a new life on her side of the Atlantic. It's fair to say I'm equally excited and terrified about our adventure together but I believe the best creative people thrive on new challenges and I'm hugely enthusiastic about my working life here.

I'm a proud graduate of Edinburgh Napier University with an Honours Degree in Design. I've spent the majority of my career with Freight, one of Scotland's leading creative design and marketing agencies, where I progressed to Senior Graphic Designer. Working as part of a small team I've had the opportunity to develop a wide range of design skills and experience every stage of the process from initial concept to producing finished artwork.

I believe my particular strengths lie in conceptual thought, typography and identity development. I've always contributed original illustrations too and particularly enjoy finding complementary combinations between design and illustration.
