I prefer to design around an idea rather than a trend or passing fad. I believe in asking 'why' more than 'what' because when you know the 'why' you can deliver the 'what'.

Designers are tasked with answering two simple questions; "What's the problem?" and "What's the solution to this problem?" I never assume that I immediately have the best and right answer to a problem. Research and iteration are the key to a successful design solution.

Also, everyone has different life experiences and each person brings a new take on the same problem. I believe in collaboration, teamwork and the exploration of ideas. No idea is bad, it just may not be the right idea at this time. Never discount a silly idea today, because it may be tomorrow's bread-winner.
