About Rachel
Rachel Martin is a design director and designer with over 14 years of design and communications experience. As an avid do-gooder and advocate for sustainability, Rachel collaborates with socially conscious leaders on a national level in design, marketing, packaging, product innovation, web development, architecture and more. She believes designers have the power to lead the way in communicating the importance of positive social and ecological responsible messages and implements these values into her projects and everyday life.

Before relocating to Charlotte, NC, Rachel was the senior designer and project manager of Corporate Communications in New York City for Louis Dreyfus, an international group of diversified businesses that is one of the largest privately held companies in the world. She had the honor of working with Tom Wood, Wood Design, who collaborated with such design talents as Richard Saul Wurman, Massimo Vignelli and Tibor Kalman. Rachel began her career in advertising at BBDO Worldwide where she worked with such clients as Bayer, Campbell's, FedEx, PepsiCo and Visa. Her work has been recognized in publications and awards from American Design Awards, Applied Arts, Creativity, GOOD Magazine, Graphic Design USA, Graphis, HOW Design, I.D. and PRINT.
Affiliations
Rachel is the National Director of The Living Principles, serves on the Advisory Boards for AIGA Charlotte and Green Drinks Charlotte, is an adopter of the Designers Accord and is a member of the Design Can Change, DESIGN 21: Social Design Network, GOOD, Ladies of Letterpress, Re-nourish and USGBC. Rachel also serves on the Charlotte Regional Environmental Network (CREN) working with leaders of each environmental organization in Charlotte. She has helped launch AIGA Charlotte’s Eat Your Greens event series and the Design for Good Poster Initiative to educate designers to be more sustainable and socially responsible in their design work.
